It has been almost 20 days from my last post, and you would think there would have been quite more progress. Alas, no.

This hobby of mine had to take a step back, as I need to complete a few tasks around the house, and family. So little has gone forward.

I also have misplaced the Marklin C track which I wanted to use, as being more reliable and easier to wire for DCC than the M track. I know it is in a box, but which one and where are the questions. My bad for not cataloging my train boxes (of which I have quite a few).

What I have been able to work on though are the warrants to run the train in a scenario. I designed two scenarios so far, and I have completed the first.

Now I am using this scenario to test the signals, sensors and turnouts. I have the last two down pat, but the signals ........ well ......... Let us say I have set up the signals locic, and logix,  three times so far, and none are working like I would like. I also need some understanding for how to control the signals automatically, especially the ones in the station. The idea was that coming out of sidings, the signal would always be yellow, but the main would only be green. Of course they also would need to show red.

Also the signals on the curve, I would like to have them go green or yellow only when a train comes to them, and then drop to red when the trains pass them. Unfortunately, if something changes with the station signals, or turnouts, the related curve signal is reset to (most of the time) yellow. between trains, I would like to have then down to red.

So I have more reading to do at the JMRI help site. I was also told that some of the things I would like could be accomplished via the SE8C board. But I just got the manuals for all the boards, and I will need to start study them.

Another thing is that at some point I switched the East and West, so some of the names and labels for sensors and turnouts and signals no longer make sense with the direction of the trains. Right now I will keep these as is, as I am more set on location of items (west end and east end) that direction of travel.

The above is a Warrant list capture that shows the warrants I created for Scenario #1 (I will keep the East West names for the trains as is for now. I will make better labels for the trains at a later time):

1- East Local 1 comes out of Staging 1 and stops at the station on Siding 1.
2- West Express 1 comes out of Staging 2 and runs through the station without stopping, going back to Staging 2.
3- East Local 1, departs and goes back to Staging 1.
4- East Freight 1 comes out of Staging 3 and stops on Siding 3.
5- East Local 2 comes out of Staging 1 and stops on the Station Main.
6- West Express 2 comes out of Staging 2 and stops at Station Siding 1.
7- After a quick stop, West Express 2 departs and goes back to Staging 2.
8- Soon after East Local 2 departs and goes back to Staging 1.
9- West Express Freight 1 leaves Staging 4, goes through the Station Main, and back to Staging 4.
10- East Freight 1 departs and goes back to Staging 3.

As it is right now, if I do not include the signals, I could start putting the layout together and have it running. But that is not the point of this "demo" and signals have to be part of the whole thing.

I may have another engine changed over soon, and hopefully a third one by the end of the month. The goal is to convert 5-6 engines.

More reading. More Studying.

Cheers!
